Weekly financial services update: ‘dark liquidity’, Europe says yes to AIFMR; and the FSA on Remuneration

The weekly financial services update from UK law firm Macfarlanes.

This weeks’ edition includes details on the European Parliament voting in favour of AIFMR in the form of the 27 October draft agreed recently following what Macfarlanes describes as the ‘trialogue’ among the Parliament, the Council and the Commission.

It also covers the FSA’s Consultation Paper on the implementation of remuneration disclosure requirements based on those set out in the Capital Requirements Directive, which requires firms to disclose information on their remuneration policies and pay-outs on an annual basis.

Lastly, the update looks at the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (“IOSCO”) new consultation on issues raised by ‘Dark Liquidity’, the practice of executing trades in securities without disclosing to the market the fact that a bid has been made or a trade has been executed
