Overview
In a surprise u-turn, the UK Supreme Court in HGS v Eli Lily overturned the Court of Appeal and Patents Court to uphold the validity of a patent for encoding nucleotide, the amino acid sequence, and certain antibodies of the human protein Neutrokine-a, which had been discovered through the use of bioinformatics.
