The new Government's formal programme for its five-year term contains a pledge to review the taxation of non-domiciled individuals. With the controversial changes that were enacted by the Finance Act 2008 still a painful memory for the civil servants who drew them up and the industry professionals who had to interpret them, it is perhaps something of a surprise that a new government would consider reexamining these provisions so soon.
