This market snapshot from Berwin Leighton highlights trends on the UK commercial real estate market over the last year.

The UK investment market has enjoyed a qualified recovery, gaining momentum since Summer 2009. An obvious trend, as a result of the reduced level of available debt, was that many buyers used a significant equity component or no debt at all to finance their acquisitions. While there is evidence that overseas investment into Europe has markedly decreased since 2006, investment into London has captured a large proportion of the available capital, resulting in increased activity in the Central London office investment market.
