Overview
On 29 July 2011, the Serbian Government adopted the new Energy Act. The Act aims to harmonise domestic energy regulations with those of the EU by encouraging the liberalisation of the Serbian energy market, introducing market-based mechanisms for determining energy prices and providing a new incentive structure for electricity generation from renewable sources.
By adopting the Act, Serbia will implement the Second EU energy package, while the Third EU energy package will be implemented only in part.
This briefing from European specialists Schoenherr outlines how the new Act will affect market liberalisation, energy permits, renewables and the oil and natural gas markets. Click 'View Briefing' for full details.
