Overview
Only one in seven law firms is using legal process outsourcing (LPO) as a way of cost-cutting, even though the vast majority are under pressure to reduce their fees.
In addition, in-house lawyers are twice as likely as those in private practice to prefer the solution of a single LPO provider handling low-cost repetitive work.
These are two of the main conclusions of the Legal Week Benchmarker report on legal process outsourcing, produced in conjunction with global LPO provider Integreon.
The study, which is based on responses from 575 senior legal figures, looks at what cost-saving measures private practice lawyers use, the use of cost-saving measures among in-house lawyers’ clients, the effect on the brand of LPOs, and the main barriers to using LPO.
