Overview
The UK's coalition government announced in the emergency Budget on 22 June 2010 that it supported the concept of automatic enrolment into pension schemes.
However, it announced a review into the previous Government’s specific proposals for automatic enrolment and National Employment Savings Trust.
The findings of the review by Paul Johnson of the Frontier Economics and Institute of Fiscal Studies, David Yeandle of EEF and Adrian Boulding of Legal & General were published at the end of last week, with Automatic enrolment given the all-clear.
