Pension schemes listing: CPI inflation, paternity leave, transitional tax regulations

Overview

CPI is replacing RPI as the measure of inflation for the purposes of minimum requirements for the revaluation of deferred pensions and increases to pensions in payment. The impact on private sector occupational pension schemes will depend on the drafting of their revaluation and pension increase rules.

Additional paternity leave of up to six months will be available. The father's entitlement will depend on the mother being entitled to statutory maternity (or adoption) leave and she must have returned to work. The father will receive the same statutory pay that the mother would have received had she remained on maternity (or adoption) leave. Paid paternity leave must be treated as pensionable service in the same way as for paid maternity (or adoption) leave.
