Korea places ban on compensation for full-time union officers

Overview

As of 2am on 1 January 2010, the plenary session of the National Assembly in Korea finally passed the much anticipated revisions to the Trade Union and Labour Relations Adjustment Act (TULRAA) regarding the establishment of multiple unions and prohibition of compensation for fulltime union officers. While the revisions are not without controversy and in some cases, not finalised, we want to highlight particular points of the revised law that you should be aware of.
