Overview
This briefing summarises a recent book written with the goal of presenting a bilingual guide to the most relevant legal issues for investors interested in Spain.
In the book Garrigues addresses the legal aspects governing the entry of foreign nationals into Spain. An analysis is performed of the different ways in which a foreigner may enter Spain in accordance with Law 4/2000 of 11 January 2000, on the rights and freedoms of foreigners in Spain and their social integration and entry into Spain.
In the first case, a study is carried out on the different types of visas required to enter Spain as well as the countries that are exempted from the visa requirement. Attention is also paid to the situation in which a foreigner may find him/herself in Spain: situation of stay and situation of temporary or long-term residence, for which the requirements and procedures differ, specifying, in addition, the requirements necessary to obtain a work permit as an employee or self-employed worker.
