All things being equal: the road ahead for discrimination law

Overview

The implementation of the Equality Act followed in quick succession by the repeal of the default retirement age has led to a period of significant change for employers. In this briefing Eversheds looks at the impact of some of the unexpected changes to the Equality Act.
The briefing deals with the Government’s consultation on changes to gender pay discrimination legislation. Against a backdrop of women comprising only 12.5% of the corporate boards in the FTSE 100 companies, Lord Davies of Abersoch’s recommendations to improve gender diversity in the boardroom are also discussed.
