We have built a strong position in the energy industry over a number of years and in 2009 were involved in some of the biggest and most innovative mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and fund raising in both the clean and “dirty” energy markets. Our outstanding instruction was our work for RWE on its €9.3 billion acquisition of Essent.

In the UK renewables sector, we advised TCW Asset Management on the £84 million acquisition of a 50 per cent stake in certain Centrica wind farms. Centrica’s sale of a stake, and its subsequent debt fundraising, has been cited as a blueprint for financing offshore wind farms in the future.
