Employment tribunal changes and collective redundancy review - the 2012 employer survey

Overview

Eversheds canvassed the views of more than 600 employers about proposals published by the Government for the introduction of employment tribunal fees, the reform of employment tribunal process and a review of the 90 day redundancy consultation period.

Many of the Government's proposals surveyed received a positive reception and the results will be fed back on behalf of the respondents as part of Eversheds' response to the Government's recent consultation.

In addition to providing background details on the proposed reforms, this report provides the full survey results and commentary on the questions posed to employers. Areas covered include:

  • the introduction of employment tribunal fees;

  • the two alternative employment tribunal fee options;

  • employment judges sitting alone; and

  • collective redundancy consultation periods.
