Overview
The Education Bill has received its Second Reading in the House of Commons. It will give take effect to autumn White Paper ‘The Importance of Teaching’. It contains 79 clauses, most of which apply to maintained schools, some of which apply to academies.
The Bill also contains a number of provisions applicable to colleges and one small but important part that forms part of the student finance changes which accompany the substantial increase in higher education tuition fees from 2012.
