Overview
The first phase of the registration of Chinese, Korean and Japanese characters ‘.asia’ domain names was launched on 11 May 2011. Governmental bodies, registered trademark owners, registered companies or organisations in the DotAsia community are given priority to register the domain names of interest during the first phase.
Local presence is required for all ‘.asia’ registrations. At least one of the associated domain contacts must be a legal entity in one of the 73 countries or economies in the DotAsia community.
The first phase will started on 11 May 2011 and ends on 20 July 2011.
