What is a building scheme?
It is a scheme of development for an area established in order to preserve the character of the area within the scheme, such that it creates a "local law".
How is a building scheme created?
Restrictive covenants are imposed that are mutually enforceable by all within a scheme. Facts such as when the covenants were entered into or in which order the properties concerned were sold hold no significance.
