Overview

There has been a very dramatic increase over the past five years — in both the US and Europe — in the number of compliance-related investigations and prosecutions. The upsurge has been accompanied by ever larger civil and criminal penalties for corporations and individuals. Particularly severe penalties have become commonplace for bribery and other forms of corporate corruption as well as for financial irregularities.
