Overview
The UAE is governed by a number of statutory codes, which regulate the civil and commercial relationships between natural and legal persons doing business in the UAE. Misrepresentation in the UAE is governed by Federal Law No. 5 of 1985 in respect of the Civil Transactions Law.
According to UAE law, misrepresentation or deception implies the existence of fraudulent means, which has led to the consent of the other party to enter into a transaction. UAE law does not recognise negligent misrepresentation.
