Conference: Legal Week Corporate Governance & Risk Forum 2011

Overview

Legal Week's inaugural Corporate Governance & Risk Forum 2011 will bring corporate counsel, compliance and risk officers and ‘C-level' executives together to raise awareness of the changing face of GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) from a legal perspective. The core aim of the forum will be to instil an understanding of how a holistic approach to GRC is now required and how key departments must now appreciate the necessity for greater cooperation and communication between themselves in their approach to the implementation of GRC mechanisms. Key sessions include: • What is Corporate Governance and Risk Management? Getting to workable definitions and measurement models that are simple enough for all to understand, broad enough to cover what they need to, but not so wide that they become meaningless. • Allocating roles and responsibilities: minimising conflicts in compliance issue lifecycles. • Human culture, linguistic and legal difference: managing consistent outcomes multi-nationally. • The role of reputation and brand management in corporate governance and risk management. Confirmed speakers include: • Lord David Gold, corporate monitor, BAE Systems. • Anne Fletcher, compliance director, Royal Mail Group. • Keith Jackson, group chief risk officer, Bupa. • Stuart Weinstein, associate head, University of Hertfordshire School of Law.
