The coalition's programme for Government: impact on immigration?

Overview

On 20 May 2010, the leaders of the coalition Government unveiled their full agreement in a document entitled ‘The Coalition: Our Programme for Government’. The programme sets out the Government's plans for the next five years and reflects their values of ‘freedom, fairness and responsibility’. The 34-page document was put together in nine days and, inevitably, some of the proposals are more specific and comprehensive than others.
