All I want for Christmas is summary judgment

Overview

The decision to litigate is not one that is generally taken lightly. The financial commitment, risks and management time involved in running a claim is often a sobering combination. That said, once a claimant has made the decision to push the litigation button, there is a growing impatience to 'cut to the chase' and obtain judgment as quickly as possible.

Given the current economic climate, this attitude is not surprising. With the future of many businesses in doubt, we believe that this impatience and focus on quick results will continue to intensify in tandem with the growing concern that some businesses may be here one day, and gone tomorrow.

This briefing explains the requirement for a summary judgement to be granted and what the court is able to order.
