Overview
China's popularity as an offshore destination for UK manufacturers has declined over the past twelve months, according to a new report. In its survey of legal representatives at over 1,500 manufacturers, Pinsent Masons found that China was the first choice for outsourcing for 50% of firms, compared with nearly two thirds of firms last year.
In this briefing, Pinsent Masons outline how planned wage increases, demographic changes, IP risks, copycat products and 'near shore' sourcing may all account for the fall.
