Overview
On 9 November 2011, China's National Development and Reform Commission confirmed on national television that it is investigating two large Chinese state-owned enterprises - China Telecom Corporation Limited and China United Network Communications Corporation Limited. The two companies are accused of monopolistic behaviour in the market for the provision of access to the broadband network. NDRC is the agency that is primarily responsible for investigating and prosecuting price-related anti-competitive behaviour under China's Anti-Monopoly Law. This is the first time that NDRC has publicly confirmed its investigation and revealed further details.
