Overview
The China employment law update by Baker & McKenzie includes the following:
• China takes positive steps to encourage more employee representation and collective bargaining.
• A notice issued by the Shanghai Municipal Health Bureau on January 5, 2011 provides for maternity benefits that substantially exceed benefits available under national law.
• On 20 December 2010, the State Council promulgateed the revised Work Injury Insurance Regulations, which formally took effect on 1 January 2011.
