Bribery Act pushed back to April 2011

Overview

The UK Ministry of Justice has announced that the coming into force of the Bribery Act has been pushed back to April 2011. Implementation of the Bribery Act had previously been expected prior to October 2010.

In addition, and perhaps linked to the delay in implementation, in September
2010, the Government will launch a short consultation exercise on its guidance regarding adequate procedures that commercial organisations should put in place in order to avoid falling foul of the new corporate offence contained in the Bribery Act.
