Overview

This edition of DLA Piper's Asia corporate newsletter focuses on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange's consultation paper on a proposed environmental, social and governance guide. Disclosures on ESG matters are largely voluntary under the current Listing Rules, although some issuers have taken the lead in reporting their involvement in such matters (e.g. in the form of a corporate social responsibility report), and the HKEx hopes that the ESG Guide will raise awareness and encourage companies to start ESG reporting.

Additionally, the briefing examines the Hong Kong Stock Exchange's new guidance on posting regulatory filings on issuers' own websites; and provides an overview of the PRC's new Foreign Investment Catalogue.
